Weight Lifting Club

The Weight Lifting Club's program focuses upon the fundamentals of technique and knowledge of basic weight training and plyometrics. The club is designed to help middle school students get a head start in athletics and lifelong health.

Participants will meet twice a week under close supervision of Great Neck coaches. They will learn proper technique for all lifts, the importance of a balanced weight training program, and how such skills and knowledge can enhance athletic performance.

Participants will learn discipline through a consistent, well-designed program. They will have the opportunity to become better athletes as they develop strength and coordination and enhance their self image as their bodies change.

The club will meet Monday through Thusday after school until 5:20 PM. Club members must ride the activity bus home or be picked by parents/caregivers before 5:30 PM. The club's first day will be Monday, March 31.

The club is free. Good behavior is mandatory as it directly relates to the safety of all participants. Inappropriate behavior may result in dismissal from the club.

Please contact Coach Nachand for additional information. (Lee.Nachand@vbschools.com)
